Libs, backed by industry, torpedoed Rudd's carbon bill

THE Rudd Government's big climate package was defeated yesterday because the estimated $16 billion or more it gives in assistance to Australia's big greenhouse-gas polluting industries is either too much or too little to help them adjust to a clean energy future.
